Gunther is a 3-star Light Warrior axe fighter built around single-target disruption rather than raw damage. His basic attack has a 50% chance to inflict Bleed for 2 turns, and his Tenacious Strike hits one enemy and stuns for 1 turn on a 4-turn cooldown. His passive Veteran grants flat Attack and +70% Critical Hit Resistance, making him very hard to land critical hits against, but in exchange he can never land critical hits himself. He is a slow, sturdy single-target controller who chips with damage-over-time and locks down one target at a time.

Counters

  • Critical-reliant attackers — His Veteran passive adds 70% Critical Hit Resistance, so enemies who depend on landing critical hits to burst will see their crits fizzle into ordinary damage against him, letting him survive exchanges he otherwise would not.
  • Squishy single targets he can lock down — Tenacious Strike stuns one enemy for a full turn, denying their action and giving his team a free window to focus that target while they cannot retaliate.
  • High-health bruisers and sustain units — His basic attack lands Bleed for 2 turns, dealing damage that scales independent of his hits and pressuring enemies who rely on stalling and out-healing through sheer health.

Countered by

  • Cleansers — His pressure is entirely the Bleed and the single-turn Stun; an ally cleanse wipes both off the target, erasing his control and his lingering damage in one move.
  • Immunity and effect-resistance teams — If the target has immunity up or high effect resistance, his Stun and Bleed simply fail to stick, leaving him with no damage-over-time and no lockdown at all.
  • Fast burst comps — He is slow, so quicker enemies act first; with his stun on a 4-turn cooldown and no way to land critical hits himself, his own offense is low and he can be focused down before he can disrupt them.
  • Wide multi-enemy threats — Everything he does hits only one enemy at a time, so against teams that pressure or cleave the whole side at once he cannot keep up — he can answer just a single target per turn.
