Verdant Adin is a 3-star Earth Thief built around shutting down buff-dependent enemies. Her sword opener pushes her own Combat Readiness by 20% to take turns faster, while her main blade-gust hits the whole enemy team with an 80% chance to leave them unable to gain any buffs for two turns, and that hit grows stronger the fewer enemies remain. Her finisher is a single-target flurry that heals her for part of the damage dealt, hands her a personal Weakness Shared buff, and can cut the target's Defense on a critical hit. She also strips enemy buffs and ignores Effect Resistance, so her control lands reliably, though she has no passive skill.

Counters

  • Buff-stacking and buff-reliant teams — Her blade gust hits everyone with an 80% chance to make them unable to be buffed for two turns, and she strips existing buffs on top of that, so enemies who lean on attack buffs, shields, or stacking effects get locked out of their whole game plan.
  • High-Defense walls and tanky bruisers — Her finisher can decrease the target's Defense on a critical hit while her lifesteal keeps her topped off, letting her grind down sturdy front-liners she would otherwise struggle to crack.
  • Heavy crowd-control comps that rely on resistance — Because her debuffs ignore Effect Resistance, the unbuffable lock and Defense break land even on enemies built to resist effects, so teams counting on shrugging off her control still get caught.
  • Small or single-target fights — Her blade gust deals more damage the fewer enemies there are, so as a duel narrows down she hits noticeably harder than her area attack first suggests.

Countered by

  • Cleanse and immunity — An ally cleanse wipes her unable-to-be-buffed debuff off the team, and an immunity buff blocks it before it ever lands, neutralizing the lockout that is her main contribution.
  • Unhealable debuff — Her staying power comes entirely from absorbing damage as Health on her finisher, so applying unhealable shuts off that sustain and leaves her fragile.
  • Buff steal and buff-duration cuts — Her finisher leans on a personal Weakness Shared buff — but it is undispellable, so it can not be stolen or stripped; deny her by out-pacing the two-turn window instead.
  • Burst that races her single-target finisher — Outside the area blade gust her real damage is single-target with no passive to fall back on, so a faster team can drop her before she finishes off a priority target.
