Elson is a 3-star Light Soul Weaver who plays as a hybrid healer and support rather than a damage dealer. His basic strike hits one enemy and can lower its Attack for a turn, while his mid-cooldown Meteor Shower hits the whole enemy team and simultaneously heals every ally, with the healing scaling off each ally's max Health. His longer-cooldown Light's Protection is a non-attacking team support that heals all allies (again scaling on max Health) and shores up their defenses for two turns. He has no passive, moves slowly, and his value comes almost entirely from sustaining and buffing the team while chipping enemies with light area damage.

Counters

  • Teams that win through sustained chip and attrition — His big-cooldown Meteor Shower hits all enemies while topping the whole team off at once, and his other support tops up health again every few turns, so he keeps a squad alive through long grinding fights where damage trickles in.
  • Enemy attackers who rely on raw damage — His basic attack can stick an Attack Down on a target, and Light's Protection raises the whole team's Defense for two turns, blunting incoming hits from heavy strikers.
  • Wide enemy formations — Meteor Shower is a full-team light attack, so he reaches every enemy at once instead of being locked to a single target like his basic strike.

Countered by

  • Buff removal and buff theft — His whole support payoff is the Defense and Attack buffs he hands out; an enemy that strips, steals, or shortens those buffs erases the protection before it does any work.
  • Unhealable and healing denial — Both his strong skills lean on max-Health-scaling heals, so blocking healing turns him into a weak chip-damage Mage with almost nothing left to offer.
  • Cleanse and Effect Resistance — His only real disruption is a chance-based Attack Down from the basic strike; enemies who cleanse it off, resist it, or play under immunity simply ignore it.
  • Fast burst before he can act — He is slow and his team heal and defense buff both sit on multi-turn cooldowns, so a quick burst team can open big or kill a target before his sustain and protection ever come online.
