Cartuja is an Earth Warrior who fights as a beefy, max-Health-scaling bruiser: all his damage grows with his own max HP. His basic Shred hits one target and can drop their Defense for 2 turns, while his cooldown skill Predatory Roar strikes the whole enemy team, has a chance to lower everyone's Attack for 2 turns, and raises his own Defense for 2 turns, dealing even more damage as his Health falls below 75%. His passive Danger Zone makes him a sticky disruptor: every time he is attacked he gains Combat Readiness, and once he drops to 50% Health or less he gains an extra 10% on top, letting him take extra turns the lower he gets.

Counters

  • Heavy, sustained attackers — His whole identity is soaking damage and turning it into turns. Danger Zone gives him Combat Readiness every time he is hit, so teams that rely on repeated attacks effectively feed him extra actions, and he hits hardest as his own Health drops.
  • Attack-heavy damage teams — Predatory Roar hits the entire enemy team with a chance to lower Attack for 2 turns while he buffs his own Defense, blunting an offensive squad's whole turn at once.
  • High-Defense, tanky targets — Shred can apply Decrease Defense for 2 turns on a single enemy, softening a beefy frontline so his team can punch through it.
  • Slow attrition matchups — Because his damage scales with his max Health rather than Attack, and Roar gets stronger below 75% HP, he stays threatening deep into long fights where Attack-based bruisers fall off.

Countered by

  • Buff removal and theft — His survivability leans on the Defense-up he grants himself with Predatory Roar; stripping or stealing that buff leaves him with no self-protection between his long 5-turn cooldown.
  • Anti-heal and burst that ignores HP defense — He has no healing in his kit, so once his Health is chipped down he stays low. Applying unhealable or simply bursting through his bulk denies the value of his HP-scaling and turns his low-Health state into a liability rather than a strength.
  • Cleanse and effect resistance — His pressure is just Defense-down on one target and a chance-based Attack-down on the team; cleansing those debuffs, resisting them, or immunity buffs erase most of what he actually does to the enemy.
  • Slow rotation and downtime — His only team-wide tool, Predatory Roar, sits on a 5-turn cooldown and his base Speed is low, so between casts he is just a single-target attacker who can be outpaced and focused before his passive ramps up.
