Chaos Inquisitor is a 3-star Fire Knight who fights as a self-sustaining single-target bruiser rather than a wide-hitting cleaver. His basic strike has a chance to dispel two of the target's buffs, his passive caps the damage he takes from any single hit to a fraction of his max Health (blunting burst), and his main attack hits harder the lower his own Health drops while healing him back for a portion of the damage dealt. He also nudges his team's turn gauge to speed up rotations.

Counters

  • Buff-stacking and buff-reliant enemies — His basic strike can strip two buffs off a single target at once, so heroes that lean on layered attack, defense, or protective buffs lose the edge they were counting on when he peels those buffs away.
  • Barrier and shield holders — His buff-stripping tears down protective barriers, and his lost-Health scaling lets him punch through the remaining shield with rising damage, so durable single-target walls crumble against him.
  • Burst-focused nukers — His passive caps how much damage he can lose to any one hit to a slice of his max Health, so a big one-shot attempt is blunted, and he then heals back up off the damage he deals on the counterattack.
  • Cannot-die and damage-neutralizing defenders — By dispelling enemy buffs he can knock off the immortality or invincibility buffs that would otherwise keep a target alive, opening them up to be finished.

Countered by

  • Heal-blockers — His entire sustain plan depends on healing himself off the damage he deals; an enemy that applies an unhealable effect shuts that recovery off, and since his attack only grows stronger as his Health falls, he is left low and exposed with no way to claw it back.
  • Wide-hitting cleave teams — He only strikes one enemy at a time and lacks any area attack, so against a team that hits everyone at once he cannot trade efficiently or peel multiple threats, and his per-hit damage cap helps him survive but does nothing to reduce the volume of attackers chipping him down.
  • Slow turn order — He acts on the slow end of the speed range, so faster enemies move first and can blow up his allies, land heal-block, or strip his sustain before he ever gets to attack or dispel.
  • Buff-light, raw-stat threats — His dispel is wasted on enemies that carry few or no buffs, so a hero that relies purely on innate stats and damage rather than buffs gives him nothing to strip and reduces him to a plain single-target bruiser.
