Mort is an Earth Knight bruiser-support whose entire kit scales off his own max Health. His passive shuts down enemy counterattacks across the whole field while making him immune to movement-blocking debuffs, and gives him a 20% chance to retaliate when an ally is hit, which then shields the whole team with an HP-based barrier and speeds himself up. His first skill is a single-target pierce that can drop Defense and ignores Effect Resistance on smaller-HP enemies, while his ultimate on a 5-turn cooldown is the only crowd hit: it strikes all enemies, applies Fear for 2 turns, heals himself, and penetrates the Defense of the biggest-HP enemy by 70%.

Counters

  • Counterattack-reliant teams — His passive flatly stops every hero except himself from counterattacking, neutralizing enemies and artifacts that win by chaining retaliation damage, while he himself counters when an ally is struck.
  • Bulky tanks and high-HP frontliners — His ultimate penetrates 70% of the Defense on the enemy with the highest max Health, and both his skills ignore the Effect Resistance of anyone whose max Health is below his, so the more an opponent stacks HP and resistance the more reliably he punches through and lands debuffs.
  • Provoke and bind setups that lock units down — He is immune to debuffs that prevent movement, so disablers who rely on stopping his actions cannot pin him, and he keeps cycling his Defense break, Fear, and team barriers.
  • Burst comps that need to one-shot allies — When an ally is attacked he can trigger Sacred Blessing, handing the whole team an HP-scaled barrier plus a self speed boost, blunting incoming nukes and helping him move sooner the next turn.

Countered by

  • Buff removal and buff theft — His protection leans on the barriers and self speed-up from Sacred Blessing; stripping or stealing those buffs erases the shields and tempo he provides, and his team loses the survivability his kit is built around.
  • Anti-heal effects — His ultimate sustains him by healing off his own max Health; an unhealable debuff cuts that recovery and lets a long fight grind him down despite his bulk.
  • Cleanse and debuff-shortening support — His pressure is a single-target Defense break and a 2-turn Fear on a 5-turn cooldown; cleansing those off or cutting their duration removes the control and damage setup, and his ultimate is slow to come back.
  • Counter-blocking and immunity holders — Abilities that prevent retaliation shut off his own counterattacks, and immunity buffs on the enemy block his Defense break and Fear outright, leaving him a slow single-target attacker between ultimates.
