Shadow Knight Pyllis is a Dark Knight defensive tank whose damage, barrier, and survivability all scale off her Defense. Her basic attack is a single-target strike with a chance to provoke for one turn, and her third skill (a 4-turn cooldown) cleanses one debuff from the whole team, hits one enemy, provokes it for a turn, and shields herself with a Defense-based barrier. Her passive stacks her own Defense up to three times whenever she is hit and, on every fourth hit she suffers, grants a Defense buff to all allies for two turns. She is a single-target protector and soft crowd-controller, not an area attacker, leaning on locking down one threat at a time while keeping her team cleansed and buffed.

Counters

  • Single hard-hitting bruisers and openers — Her provoke on both her basic attack and her cooldown skill forces one chosen enemy to attack only her for a turn, derailing a big single-target nuker or first-mover while she soaks the hit behind her Defense.
  • Debuff-stacking and damage-over-time teams — Her cooldown skill cleanses one debuff from the entire team each cast, peeling off stacking poisons, bleeds, or control before they pile up on her allies.
  • Sustained physical attackers — The more she is hit the tougher she gets, stacking her own Defense up to three times and feeding a team-wide Defense buff on every fourth hit, so prolonged fights against attackers who keep striking her only make her and her allies harder to kill.
  • Chip damage and incidental hits — Her self-barrier from the cooldown skill scales with her high Defense and lasts two turns, absorbing incoming damage and blunting attackers who rely on small repeated hits to wear her down.

Countered by

  • Buff strip and buff theft — Her whole identity rests on Defense buffs and a self-barrier; an enemy that strips or steals those buffs removes her damage, her shield, and her bulk all at once, leaving her with no offense of her own.
  • Buff-duration shortening — Her ally Defense buffs and barrier only last a couple of turns, so an enemy that cuts buff duration can wipe them before her four-hit passive can refresh the team buff again.
  • Enemy cleanse and immunity — Her only real pressure is a one-turn provoke; foes who cleanse it off or enter immunity simply ignore the lockdown, and since she is single-target she can only tag one enemy at a time anyway.
  • Burst that ignores the provoked target — Provoke only redirects the one enemy she taunts, and her protection comes on a 4-turn cooldown; a fast team can focus and delete a squishy ally she cannot cover while her shield is unavailable, especially since her own offense is minimal.
