Karin is a 4-star Ice Thief built around fast, single-target sword strikes that snowball off critical hits. Her opener quick-draws an enemy and, on a crit, shaves a turn off its own cooldown so she can keep attacking; her mid-cooldown rush inflicts a defense break on a crit; and her long-cooldown lightning slash hits even harder on a crit. Across her kit she also strips enemy buffs, applies bleed, and pushes combat readiness for extra turns, making her a fast single-target dueler rather than an area attacker.

Counters

  • Buff and shield stackers — She strips enemy buffs before connecting, so heroes who pile on attack, defense, or protective shields lose that stacked advantage when she opens on them.
  • Squishy, low-defense targets — A crit on her rush move breaks the target's defense and her finisher hits even harder on a crit, letting her quickly delete a low-armor pick once the defense break lands.
  • Heal-and-shield survival tanks — Bleed chips enemies down over time and bypasses protection, wearing down opponents who try to outlast her behind shields or sustained recovery.
  • Slower line-ups she can race — Her fast base speed plus combat-readiness gain lets her act first and take extra turns, landing her opener and defense break before slower opponents set up.

Countered by

  • Cleanse support — Her pressure leans on the defense break and bleed she lands; an ally cleanse wipes those debuffs off her target and undoes the setup she needs to finish a kill.
  • Immunity buffs — If the enemy already has effect immunity up, her defense break and bleed simply fail to apply, leaving her with raw single-target hits and no shred to punch through armor.
  • Crit denial and tanky frontlines — Almost everything in her kit keys off landing crits: cooldown refresh, defense break, and bonus damage all require one. Block her crits or force her into a high-defense wall and her snowball stalls, and her hardest slash sits on a long cooldown.
  • Multi-target threats and burst — She attacks only one enemy at a time and has no passive or self-protection, so a team that hits the whole side at once, or bursts her down first, removes a fragile assassin before she gets her rotation going.
