Boss Arunka is a Light Knight tank whose damage and barrier both scale off her own Defense. Her passive plants her in front and grants Ferocious Stand, forcing enemies to attack her while it holds, and she charges her own Combat Readiness each time she is hit. Her single-target skills chip Defense down, and her cooldown strike strips every buff off one enemy before applying a 2-turn Defense break and shielding herself with a self-buff barrier. She is a single-target protector and buff-stripper, not a wave-clearing cleaver.

Counters

  • Buff-stacking and shield-reliant enemies — Her cooldown strike dispels every buff on its target before it lands, so a single enemy leaning on immunity, attack stacks, or its own barrier gets wiped clean and then hit for full damage.
  • Teams that try to bypass her allies — Ferocious Stand forces enemies to attack her while it holds, so dive comps aiming for a back-line carry get funneled into a high-Defense wall that only grows tankier as her barrier scales off that Defense.
  • Damage-over-time and chip attackers that feed her — Every time she is struck she gains Combat Readiness, so opponents who poke her repeatedly hand her faster turns and quicker access to her dispel and Defense break.

  • Wide, non-targeted AoE damage — Ferocious Stand only protects against attacks that pick a target; sweeping AoE that hits everyone bypasses the redirect and reaches the allies she is trying to shield.
  • Buff-block and unbuffable applied before she acts — Ferocious Stand and her self-barrier can be prevented from ever being granted, leaving her without the forced-target protection or the Defense-scaled shield she relies on to survive.
  • Cleanse, immunity, and buff-duration cuts on the enemy team — Her offense hinges on the dispel and the Defense break from her cooldown skill; enemies who cleanse off the break, sit behind immunity, or shorten the debuff blunt her contribution to nothing.
  • Waiting out her long cooldown — The dispel-and-break strike sits on a 3-turn cooldown, so once it is spent she falls back to a weak single-target poke; patient teams can simply act through the window until it returns.
