Researcher Carrot is a 3-star Fire Mage built entirely around burn. Her basic Swing strikes one enemy, has a chance to apply Burn, lowers that enemy's hit chance, and then immediately detonates any burns on the target at the end of the turn for bonus damage. Her passive, Flame Barrier, triggers after she is hit: she gains an Attack buff and an Attack-scaling barrier for a turn and burns the attacker. Her cooldown skill, Flame Spurt, hits the whole enemy team, strips two buffs from each, and tries to stack two more burns per target, feeding the detonation engine.

Counters

  • Buff-stacking teams — Flame Spurt strips two buffs from every enemy, so opponents who pile on attack, defense, immunity, or shields lose much of that stacked advantage at once before she pivots to burn damage.
  • Evasion and dodge users — Swing applies a hit-chance reduction, punishing enemies who rely on dodging attacks by making their own strikes more likely to miss.
  • Big single-target threats she can chip and pin — Swing both burns and instantly detonates that burn on one target, so a high-priority enemy takes burst damage-over-time on top of the hit, and the lowered hit chance softens its counter-pressure.
  • Heavy attackers who keep hitting her — Flame Barrier turns being attacked into an advantage — each hit grants her an attack boost and a shield while burning the aggressor, so brawlers who focus her end up taking chip damage and bouncing off the barrier.

Countered by

  • Immunity going into the fight — Her whole game plan is burn plus the hit-chance debuff; enemies who enter with immunity simply block all of it, leaving Flame Spurt as a weak buff-strip and nothing to detonate.
  • Cleanse and effect-clearing teams — Her damage depends on burns staying on the target long enough to be detonated; an ally cleanse or a teammate that wipes debuffs removes those burns before Swing's detonation can cash them in.
  • Shortening or removing her own buffs — Her durability leans on the self Attack buff and the Attack-scaling barrier from Flame Barrier; stealing those buffs, dispelling them, or cutting their duration strips both her offense and her only protection, and as a fragile 3-star she folds quickly without them.
  • Anti-heal and burst before her passive arms — She has no real recovery in her kit and her barrier only appears after she is already attacked, so unhealable pressure plus burst that kills her in one go denies the passive the chance to ever shield her.
