Inferno Khawazu is a 4-star Dark Warrior built around single-target burn detonation. His basic attack hits one enemy with a chance to burn, and his third skill, Flames of Destruction, strikes one target for a chance to stack two 2-turn burns and then immediately detonates every burn on that enemy at the end of the turn for a damage burst. His passive, Malicus's Power, triggers when he is hit by an all-ally attack: it cleanses all debuffs off him, grants him vigor, heals him for a share of his Attack, and pushes his own Combat Readiness by 25%. While he holds vigor, both his attacks ignore Effect Resistance, so his burns land reliably.

Counters

  • Enemies that rely on stacking buffs to survive — His skills strip enemy buffs and his burn-then-detonate pattern ignores Effect Resistance while he has vigor, so layered defensive buffs and damage-reduction stacks get peeled off and cannot block the burst.
  • Survival-by-healing or shielding tanks — His guaranteed burn application plus the end-of-turn detonation deals scaling burst that bypasses Effect Resistance, punishing bruisers that lean on shields, barriers, and steady self-healing to outlast a fight.
  • Crowd-control and silence comps — His passive cleanses every debuff off him the moment an all-target attack lands, then hands him vigor and 25% Combat Readiness, so stuns, silences, and other lockdown effects slide off and he immediately acts again.
  • Slow setup teams — He works as an opener and disruptor: he can land burns early, his passive accelerates his own turn after taking a hit, and the detonation converts those stacked burns into immediate damage before slower setups come online.

Countered by

  • Effect immunity going into the round — An immunity buff on his target blocks his burns from landing at all, and with no burns on the enemy his Flames of Destruction detonation has nothing to set off, gutting his damage.
  • Cleanse and shortened debuff duration — If the enemy removes or expires his burns before he can detonate, the burst payoff disappears; cleansing the stacks off the target neutralizes his whole game plan.
  • Buff theft — His attacks ride on the vigor his passive grants him, which is what lets him ignore Effect Resistance; stealing that buff strips the Resistance-bypass and lets his burns be resisted.
  • Unhealable and burst before his passive fires — Blocking healing shuts down the recovery his passive provides, and since that passive only triggers after he is hit by an all-ally attack, single-target burst that kills him first never lets him cleanse, heal, or speed up.
