Kawerik is a Fire Mage built around blazing speed: every one of his attacks deals more damage the faster he (or, on his second skill, his target) is. His basic attack hits one enemy and can silence them for a turn, while his Dimensional Corridor strikes a single foe, has a chance to strip two of their buffs, pushes their skill cooldowns back by a full turn twice, ignores Effect Resistance, and cloaks Kawerik in two turns of stealth. His one true area attack, Dimensional Explosion, hits the whole enemy team, silences for a turn, and ignores 30% of their Defense. Outside that single big-cooldown explosion he is a precise single-target disruptor, not a team-wide cleaver.

Counters

  • Heroes who lean on their buffs and protective effects — His Dimensional Corridor can strip two buffs from a target while ignoring Effect Resistance, peeling away barriers, damage reduction, and even invincibility or immortality shields so they can be killed through. Buff-stacking carries lose the edge they were counting on.
  • Cooldown-dependent setup heroes and reactive defenders — Dimensional Corridor pushes the target's skill cooldowns back by a turn twice, and unlike most debuffs this delay cannot be cleansed away. Enemies who rely on a key timed skill or counter ability are forced to wait, letting Kawerik dictate the pace.
  • Casters and active-skill threats who must keep acting — Both his single-target opener and his AoE explosion carry a silence, locking targets out of their active skills for a turn. That shuts down enemies whose whole value is landing a specific cast on schedule.
  • Slower enemy teams — All his damage scales with Speed, and his second skill scales off the target's Speed instead. Built fast, he hits hard while staying ahead of slower comps and can open the round before they ever move.

Countered by

  • Immunity going into the fight — An immunity buff blocks his silence and his cooldown-pushing outright, turning his disruption into plain damage and letting the enemy keep acting freely.
  • Cleanse and his own removal being undone — Allied cleanse wipes the silence he lands, and enemies who can steal or strip his stealth, or shorten his buff durations, erase the cover and tempo he sets up. His dispel is also a chance, not a guarantee, so a heavily buffed target may shrug off the strip.
  • Long cooldowns on his disruption — His buff-stripping corridor sits on a four-turn cooldown and the AoE explosion on five, so once they are spent he is reduced to a single-target basic attack. A team that survives the first window can punish the gap.
  • Fragile mage frame and reliance on out-speeding — He carries thin defenses and no passive safety net, leaning on stealth and acting first to stay alive. Faster enemies, or burst that catches him out of stealth, can drop him before his speed advantage matters.
